RF Immunity
- Control of RF power and frequency
- Generation of immunity (susceptibility) maps
RF Immunity is a function designed to evaluate a product’s sensitivity and immunity to external or internal RF fields (for example, when a mobile phone causes disturbances on a display) and to identify the sources of coupling. The scan parameters can include frequency, RF modulation, and probe type (electric or magnetic, with different sizes and orientations).
An RF or modulated RF signal is supplied from a signal generator to a probe, which is then scanned around the DUT. The DUT is monitored for any effects caused by interference. At each scan point, the strength of RF interference is automatically recorded. From these measurements, immunity maps are generated for each location on the DUT, enabling the identification of the root causes of immunity issues.
While RF Immunity testing is similar to ESD scanning, the key difference is that ESD represents a broadband disturbance, whereas in RF Immunity testing, the power level and frequency are controlled by the user.

Use Cases
- Sensitivity analysis of products to external or internal RF fields
- Debugging for failures based on IEC 61000-4-3 and for TEM cell testing
